Welcome to DOSC Sailability, Dubai - UAE

Sailability is a world wide, not-for profit, volunteer based movement that facilitates sailing for everyone regardless of ability.

DOSC Sailability is committed to giving people with special needs the opportunity to learn to sail and we offer a structured sailing program to students from special needs schools. Sailability activities are designed to introduce and encourage people to participate in sailing activities in a safe and supportive environment, with Bronze, Silver and Gold Certificates of Achievement to mark progress.

RYA Sailability (Royal Yachting Association - UK) is a leading authority on disabled sailing and in the Spring of 2009, DOSC achieved RYA Sailability recognition through the hard work and dedication of the sailing team and volunteers. DOSC Sailability is one of a few very select overseas centres to hold this status and to achieve affiliation.

The Sailability program is primarily supported by DOSC and is operated and managed entirely by volunteers. Sailability relies heavily on donations from individuals, small businesses and corporate sponsors across the UAE for the purchase of equipment, boats, training materials and school educational visits.

Sailing is a sport that allows people with special needs to achieve independence and a real sense of self-worth, by being freed from the problems of mobility and other issues that they face on land. Through sailing, students gain in confidence and self esteem.
