Keith Mutch | Thursday, June 3, 2010 at 13:43 A fond farewell to David May and Liz Smith as they step down from the excellent work they did to keep the club on an even keel and sail it in the right direction. David gained more than enough grey hairs in his 8 year tenureship at the helm of the club, tacking, jibing and running with the wind,taking the club from a beach barasti with a cool box to what it is today.
Welcome to the new committee members, may the course you choose to sail be calm with fair winds. The web page has been updated with the current committee members so please have a look so you know whom to talk to about what.
The world cup football is upon us with the first games been screened at the club on the 11th June at 1800. We will be sponsored by Budweiser beer [buckets, pay for 5 and get six deal] Bud Foosball tables [for the duration of the series]and Nederburg and Amarula specials for all to enjoy the games. Quick meal menus are now out and will accompany all the games. Bring your friends, dress to support your teams and enjoy the spectacle, it will be special..
The Sailability garage sale is on tomorrow from 0730 to 1030 at Villa 55 47B Street Al Thanya ~ its for a very good cause please if you can make it do so.
The Dinghy fun race briefing at 1300 tomorrow depending on the weather as there is a predicted 20 to 30 knots.
Live Winter Rugby Tours will be screened at the club on Saturday with Australia playing against Fiji at 1330 and the South Africa vs. Wales at 1830. Pull out the supporters jerseys and come on down for a vitamin H infusion and support your team.
Tuesday sunset sail continues unabated …. Times will be on the white board as normal.
