May 3rd From the Crows Nest

Good morning all members and friends of DOSC the Crescent Moon sail-away was great and thanks to the ten yachts that joined in this adventure, we now have the information for any member who would like a destination to go to other than what we already know.

With the start of May all membership fees are now frozen and those who have not paid, it is noted by the membership secretary that you did not wish to renew your membership and as such will be removed from the membership roll.

The May Ball is just around the corner, those who have reserved seating or tables must pay for them before the 9th May [as per the House Members request] as there is a waiting list of members who have paid but remain hopeful to get a seat/table.

The improvements/building work at the club is now moving along with work being done on the club house roof, the terrace area and in the water in front of the club. We apologies for any inconvenience caused while this work is in progress.

This Wednesday and on the 19th May are quiz nights, the 5th is a charity night at the TT bar and tickets can be purchased on the night and the 19th will be in the club-house and will be hosted by the one and only quizmaster Colin Taylor all the way back from Thailand for the event. Put both dates into your iphones.....

Tuesday Night [4th] is the pursuit race with start times up on the whiteboard followed by the accumulator and theme live cooking. Thursday [6th] is the French Theme Night ~ tables can be booked at extension 1008, members are asked to consider other members and not book tables for 17 guests at a time. Friday [7th]is the last Commodores cup cruiser fleet race sponsored by Mount Gay ~ followed by Rod Stewart and Spandau Ballet at the Dubai rugby grounds.... will be great.

John and Sue continue to entertain us with their adventures in Chagos which can be followed on the DOSC web page with the TAB on the left hand side.
