11 May 2010

Greetings all members ~ great weekend sailing for the keel boats and a great prize giving with the help of Mount Gay, thanks to all who participated and all who won throughout the season, well done, let’s make it a better year next season. This week sees the pursuit race again on Tuesday stating as usual at 1730 BUT the winners last week will have later times as per the rules so check the whiteboard before you head out also please sign on and off and at the security, [oh on that note the reason that the security calls the number given at 2100 is purely safety to check that the yacht is ok and may not come back that night, its not checking up on you ~ if you do not want this to happen then please bring it up at the AGM and we can get a blanket ruling] It is noted that some very senior sailors/skippers have brushed off the sign in log requested by the coast guard.

Accumulator night after the pursuit race with the last [I hope not] of the coolish weather, with Thursday night the famous Oyster and mussel seafood theme night on the terrace, those members who love the mussels [ordered today from New Zealand, should be here by Thursday morning] night come down and join in, wine and beer on Happy Hour prices all night.

The Clubs Quiz night with game show Colin hosting will be on the 19th and the dinghy prize giving on the 21st ~ please book tables for both these functions. The barasti has been erected along the beach fence and does give us a level of privatization ~ other work related projects are moving ahead albeit slower that we wanted due to outside influences.

Membership is now settled for the most part and here is the FIRST notice of marina fees due in September ~ I know its 4 months away but you can ask tell members enough times to pay fees due. Have a great week ahead and we shall see you during the course of the week…..

Keith
