Happy New Year to all members who have been away are are now back from the cold and wet ~ January is going to be a great time here as the weather is fantastic and there are a number of functions happening throughout the month.

 

First and foremost to all provisional members the sailing school is desperate to have volunteers to assist them every weekend for regattas and events ~ this way you can get your points very quickly and not be asked to leave the club if you have not got them. Contact Joel and come on down and volunteer.

 

Outstanding bar bills have climbed out the roof again please can you settle next time you are down at the club

 

The Bill Nelson Memorial race takes place from the 21^st Jan to the 23^rd Jan and sponsorship from US to the Angel Appeal worked on race fees paid and your generosity at a raffle before the event. Entry forms and NOR on the web page ~ this is a great race so join in if you can.

 

Line dancing at the club on the 20^th starting at 1930 for 2000 ~ budding cowboys/girls and others who would like to join in are welcome.

 

 Burns Night Dinghy Dinner on the 27^th starting at 1930 ~ please book to reserve a table

 

Every Tuesday night is the club accumulator night with a live cooking section as well as the normal menu ~ the new three monthly menu will take off on 01 Feb 2010.

The 323 challenge will start off with a dinner de-move from one three to another ~ please let me know if you are able to attend and if your yacht can be used [and the pontoon in front of your yacht ] to host any of the following:

 

Pre Dinner cocktails ~ to next yacht

Starter soup and drinks ~ to next yacht

Appetizers and drinks ~ to next yacht

Main course canapés etal and drinks ~ to next yacht

Desert and drinks ~ to next yacht

Cigars and port ~ to last yacht

Farwell drinks and go home:

 

Please let me know if you are happy to join in ~ during the dinner the actual challenge format and the meat of it will be discussed, thrown around, beaten out and formulated. Lets do it again this year but in finer form
