Rob is a new to Dubai and Moths, moving from Auckland in the middle of the Dubai summer. A competitive skiff sailor he has won the New Zealand and South Pacific Javelin skiff championships. Robs first ever Moth sail was in Dubai in the middle of the afternoon in 46 degrees, his tip for new sailors to Dubai would be when the thermometer reads "extreme danger" don't try learning to sail a Moth no matter how excited you are, just have another beer, inside!
Rob has an Assassin on order, his first "off the shelf" yacht purchase. Having built his own skiff, and a number of skiffs for the NZ and Australian fleets its possible that a Dubai Moth will eventually hit the water, in the mean time repairing BladeRiders for beer keeps him out of trouble.
Living across the road and 250m walk from the DOSC bar, in a house equiped with a pool and a BBQ, Rob's place will be the "Kiwi Moth Hotel" for the worlds.
Until the Assassin arrives, will have to stick with a skiff shot from Perth.
