From the day Dubai Offshore Sailing Club opened its doors in 1974, to the sailing fraternity, it has sported some of the best sailing opportunities in The Gulf. Throughout its existence, this non-profit club has been run with the noble intention of promoting sailing in Dubai and its environs.

The countries surrounding the Arabian Gulf have a strong seafaring heritage with the traditional sailing Dhow being a familiar sight in ports far and wide in the past.  While motor vessels have replaced the sailing Dhow we are once again seeing a period of unprecedented growth of interest in sailing in the Gulf Region.

10 years ago the concept of an Emirates boat sailing in the Admiral’s Cup would have been unthinkable. Likewise Qatar would not have been considered as the home of one of the most challenging round the world yacht races.

Against this dramatic upsurge in sailing in the Gulf Dubai Offshore Sailing Club (DOSC) is one of the premier sailing clubs in the Arabian Gulf. Its purpose is to support and encourage sailing in the UAE. From modest beginnings some 31 years ago it is now thriving with over 450 memberships, equivalent to over 1,500 people resident in Dubai and other Arabian Regions.

The membership includes prominent members of the local and international business community in such positions as:

Consultants, Technical Directors, Regional Managers, Surgeons, Regional Sales Reps, Directors, Managing Directors, Media Consultants, Newspaper and Media Business owners, Airline Pilots and Private Airline Charter Owners just to name a few.

Our sailing and non-sailing events are supported by many local based businesses and without their assistance we would be unable to do the work we do.
